Brief History of the Group

Avant Group was founded in 2010 by Mr. Sudeep Saha.

Mr. Saha invested his entire life savings into Avant Group
and also raised seed capital from his friends, family and
associates.

The Group took up a few society redevelopment projects
in Western suburbs in Mumbai. Thereafter, since 2014, the
Group has focused more on slum rehabilitation projects
(particularly stuck projects), since these projects have much
higher profitability compared to society redevelopment
and open plot projects.

In slum rehabilitation, the Group took up a distressed
project in Jogeshwari (E), which was abandoned by the
existing developer for over 10 years. Avant Group started
the construction of the project — named Avant Heritage 1
– in 2016 and turned around the project after taking it up.
In 2017, it gave possession to the original slum dwellers,
who had to wait for over 15 years to get their rightful

and possession given to homebuyers.

Due to the goodwill created in the market for the Group,
the Group has been able to take up several other projects
in Jogeshwari(E) at very attractive valuation. Consequently,
the Group launched and is constructing Avant Heritage II,
and is in final stages of obtaining approvals for Avant

Sudeep Saha

Chairman and Managing Director

Mr. Sudeep Saha, CFA (2009) awardee from U.S.A is the founder promoter of Avant Group.
Prior to founding Avant Group in 2010, Sudeep had around 8 years of experience as a
successful Investment and Private Equity professional. Previously Sudeep was Vice President —
Investments for India Property Fund (a US$ 315 MM Offshore Real Estate Fund managed by
Vornado Realty Trust, USA and The Chatterjee Group). He is the CMD at Avant Group. He
completed his marine engineering from MERI in 1999 and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad in 2003.
He is winner of Real Estate Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2020) by Times Group.
